The College of Medicine Agency for Development and Community Partnership is one of the college's strategic pillars, playing a central role in supporting institutional excellence and enhancing the quality of educational and research outcomes, in alignment with best academic practices and national and international standards. The Agency seeks to develop an integrated system built on sustainable quality, innovation in medical education, and the strengthening of effective community partnerships. The Agency affirms its ongoing commitment to adopting best practices and achieving integration among quality, development, and community partnership, contributing to the graduation of distinguished medical personnel capable of competing locally and globally.

Message from the Vice Dean

It is my pleasure to welcome you all and to express my appreciation for the vital role played by the College Agency for Development and Community Partnership, as a fundamental pillar in strengthening the quality system and elevating academic and research performance.

The Agency's responsibilities in the areas of quality and development represent the cornerstone for ensuring institutional excellence and achieving the highest academic accreditation standards. Furthermore, supporting medical research reflects the college's commitment to actively contributing to community service and advancing medical knowledge. Of equal importance is its role in overseeing postgraduate study programs, which serve as a primary contributor to preparing qualified personnel capable of innovation and leadership in the healthcare sector.

We also affirm that community partnership represents a strategic dimension that enhances the college's impact beyond its walls, contributing to the realization of our nation's ambitious vision through integration with various sectors and serving the community with efficiency and effectiveness.

Agency Responsabilities:

  • Overseeing the application of quality and academic accreditation systems, and following up on the implementation of continuous improvement plans.
  • Developing academic programs and enhancing teaching and learning processes in accordance with the latest educational methodologies.
  • Supporting and advancing scientific research, and promoting research output and publication in prestigious scientific journals.
  • Overseeing postgraduate programs and ensuring their quality and alignment with labor market needs.
  • Building and activating community partnerships with health, educational, and research sectors.
  • Organizing community initiatives and activities that contribute to promoting health awareness and serving the community.
  • Preparing reports and strategic indicators to monitor performance and achieve institutional objectives.

Quality and Accreditation Unit

  • Unit Duties:                                                                              
  • Promoting the concept of quality and spreading its culture at the college level.
  • Overseeing the implementation of quality programs at the college .
  • Overseeing performance evaluation at the college .
  • Overseeing the implementation of academic evaluation and accreditation programs .
  • Studying the difficulties and problems facing development and quality programs and proposing solutions .
  • Following up on the development of educational facilities and the updating of laboratories at the college .
  • Overseeing the implementation of matters referred to it related to quality and development .
  • Developing appropriate phased plans for the periodic review of approved quality standards to ensure continuous improvement in the performance of academic departments and administrative units at the college.
  • Following up with program coordinator.
  • Following up on all reports and improvement plans of its affiliated committees .
  • Following up on corrective actions taken at the course and program levels, and following up on committee work in light of technical support visit reports from the deanship.
  • Overseeing quality committees at the college and closing the quality procedures cycle.

Planning and Development Unit:

  • Unit Duties:
  • Proposing the college's executive plan in cooperation with all agencies, departments, and administrative affairs.
  • Proposing the college's operational plan derived from the university's operational plan. 
  • Following up and providing all college requirements related to verifying the implementation of the university's strategic plan.
  • Following up on the committee for inventorying the college's material and human resources and its improvement plans .
  • Identifying specialized training needs for faculty members in the college's academic departments and coordinating with the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality for their implementation.
  • Overseeing the preparation of a plan for developing the skills of college staff, including faculty members, employees, and female students, in cooperation with the college's skills development unit. 

 

Measurement and Statistics Unit:

  • Unit Duties:
  • Designing all questionnaires at the level of courses, examinations, programs, faculty members, and what is required by units and committees at the college level to monitor data across the college's various activities.
  • Analyzing information and statistical data from various aspects of college activity.
  • Reviewing data upon receipt, classifying and categorizing it, establishing foundations for its storage and retrieval, and ensuring continuous data update.
  • Conducting analytical statistical studies to obtain statistical indicators used in making appropriate decisions.
  • Creating and developing a statistical database for designing statistical tables across various college departments.
  • Overseeing the preparation of the college's annual report and distributing it to relevant authorities.
  • Providing information to beneficiaries in accordance with applicable regulations and bylaws.
  • Receiving requests and detailed data for inclusion in the university's annual report through the relevant authority and identifying the data required from each department.
  • Classifying and categorizing data and placing it in files for retrieval and archiving.
  • Preparing studies, statistics, tables, and charts that aid in decision making .
  • Preparing a comprehensive report on all college statistics and proposing improvement plans..
  • Providing the university's Statistics and Information Administration with the required data.

Community Service Unit:

  • Unit Duties:
  • Providing community services in the form of awareness campaigns for various schools in the Northern Border Region across all educational levels.
  • Participating with civil society institutions in spreading health awareness at all levels and across all segments of society
  • Cooperating with the college's Medical Club in various events.
  • Participating with the Ministry of Health through health center participation in all awareness activities and international health day .
  • Writing a report on all curricular and extracurricular activities carried out by the college within the framework of community service, and working to develop an annual plan for all activities and participations.
  • Motivating faculty members, male and female students to engage in community service.
  • Considering participation in community service as part of the evaluation criteria for faculty members and their assistants.

 

Medical Research and Postgraduate Studies Unit: 

  • Unit Duties:
  • Specializing in the preparation of college policies related to postgraduate studies and following up on their implementation.
  • Overseeing postgraduate programs at the college
  • Raising the efficiency and effectiveness of the college as one of the distinguished research centers that works to develop participation and cooperation with educational and research institutions and local, regional, and international community organizations
  • Presenting proposals and recommendations to raise the performance level of postgraduate programs at the college
  • Proposing internal regulations in coordination with academic departments regarding the organization of postgraduate studies
  • Preparing, implementing, and overseeing admission criteria for postgraduate programs 
  • Implementing and following up on all matters related to master's and doctoral programs at the college.
  • Encouraging faculty members at the College of Medicine to engage in scientific research.
  •  Providing a suitable environment to encourage all college students to participate in scientific research.
  • Providing technical services and medical statistics to researchers and providing financial support from the research center's budget.
  • Encouraging scientific research that addresses major health issues in the Kingdom.
  • Encouraging research with new ideas that could result in patents.
  • Establishing a scientific research laboratory affiliated with the research center.
  • Developing a future plan for the advancement of scientific research.
  • Issuing a medical journal bearing the name of the College of Medicine and the Research Center.
  • Establishing a scientific research ethics guide.

Teaching Assistants and Scholarship Recipients Unit:

  • Unit Duties:
  • Organizing the work of teaching assistants and lecturers at the college until their scholarship departureم.
  • Organizing the scholarship process for teaching assistants and lecturers and verifying approved programs.
  • Following up on scholarship recipients among teaching assistants and lecturers during their studies and submitting reports in coordination with departments.
  • Developing appropriate plans for teaching assistants regarding their postgraduate studies abroad to ensure their proper qualification in achieving global quality standards in educational performance at the College of Medicine
  •  Providing consultations and moral and psychological support to teaching assistants, lecturers, and scholarship recipients at all stages and ensuring their excellence 
  • Establishing a dedicated database for teaching assistants, lecturers, and scholarship recipients.
